Die Kunst der Fotografie besteht darin, zum richtigen Zeitpunkt am richtigen Ort und in der richtigen Perspektive genau den einen Moment im Bild festzuhalten.
Den fotografischen Blick haben. Die Komposition des Bildes. Jedes Foto soll schließlich einzigartig werden.
Meine Erfahrung in mehr als dreißig Jahren als Fotograf und Videofilmer tragen dazu bei, den selbst gestellten hohen Qualitätsanspruch umzusetzen. Allein der Umgang mit der Technik verlangt heute umfassende Kenntnisse. Welche Belichtungszeit, welcher Blendenwert, welcher ISO-Wert, den Zusammenhang zwischen Blendenöffnung und Tiefenschärfe kennen und als fotografisches Mittel richtig einsetzen. Welches Objektiv mit welchen Einstellungen, um ein traumhaft schönes Bokeh zu erzeugen. All das sind Zusammenhänge, die zu verstehen und umzusetzen sind.

Das Foto braucht keinen Text, keine Übersetzung. Es hat seine eigene Bildsprache. Die herausragende Eigenschaft der Fotografie ist ihr Inhalt. Es wäre falsch, ein Foto lediglich an der technisch perfekten Qualität zu bewerten. Ein solches Foto kann bedeutungslos und uninteressant sein. Die Technik der Kamera verleitet dazu, das „perfekte“ Foto zu schießen. Die Kameraeinstellungen sind wichtig, aber nicht entscheidend für die Qualität und Aussagekraft eines Fotos.
Ein Foto sollte möglichst Emotionen ausdrücken, das Wichtige einfangen, das Unwesentliche weglassen.
